Daniela Saxa-Kaneko, Esq.
Executive Director
Ms. Saxa-Kaneko brings to the Loew Vision Rehabilitation Institute her wide-ranging expertise in the healthcare and non-profit world. Before joining the Institute, she was Director of the Disability Mediation Center and staff attorney at the Cancer Legal Resource Center. She is an experienced mediator, trainer and disability advocate, who also worked 18 years in the healthcare industry as a medical office manager and medical billing specialist. Ms. Saxa-Kaneko earned bachelor degrees from the University of Southern California and Woodbury University, a law degree from Whittier Law School and an LL.M. from the Straus Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law. Dr. Buckley comes to the Institute from the Los Angeles County USC Department of Ophthalmology, where she has been Chief of Low Vision Services since 2003. She is a well-established specialist in low vision therapy and rehabilitation who also has extensive experience in primary eye care, including diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, advanced ocular diseases as well as pre- and post-surgical care. Dr. Buckley obtained her optometric degree from the Universidad de la Salle and additional training in low vision therapy and rehabilitation at the prestigious Instituto Barraquer, both in Colombia. Following her move to the United States in 1994, she completed additional training in ocular management and procedures at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Buckley is a member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association and the Los Angeles Optometric Society. |
